HAIR TISSUE MINERAL ANALYSIS
I am now offering Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) testing in my practice. You do not need to schedule a consultation in order to do this test (although it is recommended). What is HTMA? Hair tissue mineral analysis is an analytical test that measures mineral content of the hair. The hair sample is prepared in a clinical laboratory through chemical and high temperature digestive procedures revealing a unique metabolic world: intracellular activity, which can't be seen through most other testing. Why Test for Minerals Using Hair Samples? Our hair contains all the minerals present in our body, including nutritional minerals as well as toxic heavy metals. Testing our tissue via a hair sample not only measures mineral content in the hair, it is a very good indicator of the metabolic processes occurring within our cells (intracellular). The hair samples are tested for 36 elements, including heavy metals, and the results reflect how much of each element is in your tissues, providing a vivid picture of your internal environment. How to Do The Test To do this screening, you simply purchase the test kit. I provide you with all materials and instructions needed to submit your hair samples to the lab (Trace Elements, Inc.). If you prefer, I will do all the necessary steps, including taking your hair sample for you by scheduling a short 15-minute office session. After mailing in your samples, in approximately 14 days I receive the test results, and will then email you the full written report. This report (including graphs) is quite extensive. I review the entire report and you will receive all pertinent information about your results. You will then have an opportunity to send me questions you may have about the report, or schedule a brief phone session to discuss them in more detail. You may call, email, or simply use the contact form on my web site to purchase a test kit and all the information and instructions needed to submit your hair sample: http://www.sfnutritionaltherapy.com/contact.html Pricing and additional information can be found on my web site under the "Metabolic Testing" menu tab: http://www.sfnutritionaltherapy.com/metabolic-testing.html Please feel free to contact me for more details about Trace Elements, Inc. and the screening test.
